The World Partnership Walk is coming to cities across Canada on May 25th. The World Partnership Walk is the largest annual event held in Canada in order to raise funds while increasing awareness of the movement against global poverty. Those living in Ottawa and London can take part in the walk on June 1st.With the aim of improving life for those living in impoverished communities across Africa and Asia, thousands of Canadians will be taking part. Setting itself apart, 100 per cent of every dollar raised goes to international development programs. Donations will not be eaten up by administration overhead. All money collected will go towards education, the increasing of rural incomes, grow community-based organizations and improve health care.

Activism : Reader's Digest Canada Annouces Their Canadian Heroes of 2006
Reader's Digest Canada announced today their Canadian Heroes of 2006. Reader's Digest had asked readers across the country whom they considered a Hero in education, community service, rescue, public life, and health and/or research. From all of the nominations, the judges who were the heads of journalism schools across Canada then selected the finalist in each category.

Activism : Start Your New Year Safely With Some Privacy Resolutions
The New Year is fast approaching and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada Jennifer Stoddart is urging Canadians to learn good privacy habits by adding to their list of New Year's resolutions.
"Polls have told us again and again that Canadians value their privacy. The start of the New Year is a great time for everyone to check whether they are doing enough to protect this important right," said Ms. Stoddart. She continued, "I hope people will add some good privacy habits to their New Year's resolutions list."
